Improving lives – one click at a time

Kua Digital is a community based organisation (CBO) that aims to create access for underprivileged youth to the opportunities of digitalisation.

In a technology dominated era, access to computer skills and digital literacy is more important than ever. Unfortunately, many young and talented Kenyans are lacking the privilege of owning a computer or receiving formal education in this field.

To tackle this disparity, we are creating opportunities by providing equipment and free computer classes for underprivileged youth. Our aim is to prepare as many young Kenyans as possible for a digital future by teaching them essential and advanced computer skills.

For a holistic approach, we also develop our students’ essential soft skills like the ability to work in a team, speak in front of a group and think critically. Our classes are interactive and encourage students to ask questions and give suggestions.

Together with the community’s support we will help less privileged youth to empower themselves, advance in this digital age and be qualified for a wider field of jobs. Let’s work together to take the first steps towards a brighter future!

Our Name

In Kiswahili, “Kua” means “to be”. So translated into English, the name means “Be Digital” which is what the organisation is all about. Another meaning of the word Kua is to go beyond. That represents the motivation of the founding members, go beyond to create opportunities for those who are not seen and whose voices are not heard by many.
